It is rich and robust, packed with dark fruit character and has a satisfying lick of peppery spice on the long, sumptuous finish. We recommend pairing it with high welfare butchers' pork sausages, creamy mash potatoes and either a traditional onion gravy or a big tray of roasted Mediterranean vegetables.

Arguably the most iconic red grape in Italy, responsible for some of the finest wines of the world, Sangiovese is steeped in tradition and has a rich and wonderful history. Countless growers and winemakers have mastered this grape variety over the generations and we, today, are the beneficiaries of this extensive work!

Calcanio Sangiovese expresses classic varietal character with abundant cherry notes on the nose, complemented by a light and pretty floral character. The palate is medium-bodied with refreshing, bright red fruits and a hint of spice on the finish.

Just off the coast of South Australia is the Great Australian Bight, a powerful yet elegant bay of turquoise blue waters, respected and loved by anyone who lays eyes on it. It was only right that we paid homage to this great bay with this wine. Sourced from coastal vineyards benefitting from the Bight's cooling influence, this Merlot has an abundance of blackberry, black pepper and mint notes, tempered by a lifting freshness. Pair alongside a barbecued steak with crispy rosemary-salted chips.

The inspiration behind this range is one of South Africa’s most spectacular birds, the Cape Roller, brightly coloured and often seen perched atop the tallest vantage points, ready to dive at great speeds for its next feed. This is a dark fruit-laden red which is crafted exclusively from Cabernet Sauvignon, a grape which thrives in the granite soils and long, sunny days found in South Africa’s Western Cape region. A great red for pairing with a smoky chilli con carne or cheese on toast, dashed with tabasco sauce.

Our Castillo de Lerisia wines are crafted from carefully selected parcels to deliver the very best value possible in a no-fuss, all-rounder style. The Spanish region of Jumilla's far south is an area well known for its concentrated wines that truly over-deliver in the glass. We love their easy-going fruitiness, and this wine is no exception.
