Just off the coast of South Australia is the Great Australian Bight, a powerful yet elegant bay of turquoise blue waters, respected and loved by anyone who lays eyes on it. It was only right that we paid homage to this great bay with this wine. Sourced from coastal vineyards benefitting from the Bight's cooling influence, this Shiraz has an abundance of dark plum, red fruit and spice notes, tempered by a lifting freshness. Pair alongside roast beef with lashings of gravy and crispy potatoes.

Flatiron Merlot Reserve - Chile 2022

The journey to source the best possible wines for the year is always a challenge but made more rewarding by the parcels of special wines that we encounter on our way. In this case, this complex, elegantly textured Merlot is one of Chile's undisputed signature varieties. Packed with plum, forest fruits and spicy vanilla notes, this is a shamelessly appealing red with a versatile, approachable character. Generous and rounded, Flatiron Reserve Merlot is just the ticket with grilled beef and hearty savoury dishes - meat, fish and vegetables alike.

Cape Roller Cabernet Sauvignon - South Africa 2022

The inspiration behind this range is one of South Africa’s most spectacular birds, the Cape Roller, brightly coloured and often seen perched atop the tallest vantage points, ready to dive at great speeds for its next feed. This is a dark fruit-laden red which is crafted exclusively from Cabernet Sauvignon, a grape which thrives in the granite soils and long, sunny days found in South Africa’s Western Cape region. A great red for pairing with a smoky chilli con carne or cheese on toast, dashed with tabasco sauce.

Baya Morada Malbec - Argentina 2022

This crowd-pleasing style of juicy Malbec comes from the sought-after, high-altitude slopes of the Mendoza Valley in Argentina. Baya Morada shows deep hues of purple in the glass with ripe blueberry, strawberry compote and hints of oaky spice on the nose. It has a rich and layered mouthfeel with soft tannins and a long, harmonious finish. We recommend pairing this with grilled dishes - whether that is earthy vegetables like aubergine and mushrooms, lamb chops or a hamburger fresh off the BBQ!

Bedford's Special Selection Chardonnay - Australia 2022

Long gone are the days when New World Chardonnay was smothered in oak, and this 'Special Selection' bottling is a very fine example of how the times have changed and moved on to crisper, fresher and less heavy styles. A wonderfully refreshing un-oaked Chardonnay that is the perfect combination of crunchy pear and crisp apple-orchard fruit, given a little tropical mango and pineapple juiciness thanks to the long, warm, sunny summer days that bathe the vines of South Australia. Serve chilled with nibbles and good company.

Puntino (which translates to 'small dot') is a range that puts a pin in the map of Italy and shines the light on some of the best wines from the country’s vast and varied wine landscape. Nothing is ignored, from excellent representations of grapes and styles that are household names, to hidden gems that you may never have heard of that will surprise and delight. This Pinot Grigio, one of Italy’s classic wines, is laden with ripe stone fruit, balanced and lifted by zesty citrus and crisp pear notes.

Cape Roller Reserve White - South Africa 2022

The inspiration behind this range is one of South Africa’s most spectacular birds, the Cape Roller, brightly coloured and often seen perched atop the tallest vantage points, ready to dive at great speeds for its next feed. This is a crafty blend, built around the Cape's most popular white variety, Chenin Blanc. Layered on top of a core of lemon barley fruit, we’ve used spicy Grenache Blanc, nutty Roussanne and tropical fruit-filled Viognier to create a wine that is perfectly balanced and super food-friendly.

Without the shelter of the leaves, a natural shield and protector to the fruit that hangs beneath, the grapes would be sunburnt, shrivelled and utterly useless when it came to harvest and winemaking. So, this winemaker's blend is crafted in honour of these unsung guardians of the precious crop that they help ripen and nurture. They allow winemaker Sophie Maliquet to work her magic in the winery and craft wines that are full of vibrancy and character. Under the Canopy boasts fresh citrus fruit, rounder peachy notes and a hint of spicy green pepper.
